Consulting
Consulting
I spent two decades building an organization, advising other organizations, and participating in networks with other social entrepreneurs, community builders, and advocates. I’ve been a client of plenty of consultants, worked with an executive coach for over a decade, and cultivated many mentors. The best consultants helped me move from the dance floor to the balcony for perspective; helped me understand both the technical and adaptive challenges I faced; shared new insights, knowledge, and tools; and facilitated our team to build on our assets and values to develop the capacities needed to achieve our results. They also encouraged my perseverance and growth as change is never easy.
My goal is to be a thought partner, advisor, and facilitator that helps leaders and organizations build the insights and capacities needed to achieve better results.
Most of my work today supports collective impact efforts with an emphasis on those rigorous about building equitable and accountable strategies and cultures. This includes both supporting new collective impact efforts and supporting more advanced efforts to strengthen their processes, engagements, and results.
In addition, I have also helped nonprofits, foundations, and coalitions in the following areas:
Purpose
Organizational Strategy
Program Development
Replication and Growth
Voice
Asset-Based Community Development
Community Engagement
Civic Engagement
Public Policy and Advocacy
Presentation and Storytelling
People
Leadership Development
Diversity, Racial Equity, and Inclusion
Recruiting and Retaining Talent
Team Building and Culture Building
